About the Event
Over the past five years, representatives of the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagalk Peoples (WJJWJ People) have been negotiating a settlement with the State of Victoria under the Traditional Owner Settlement Act 2010. The terms of the first stage of a proposed settlement are close to being finalised, and the agreements are ready to be presented to and considered by the WJJWJ full group.
BGLC staff and our lawyers advising BGLC and WJJWJ will be available to attend this information session to provide summaries of the package and to answer questions.
This session is open to all members; individual family meetings are to be held as well as in-person meetings in Melbourne and Ballarat. Please check our website for full schedule of meetings planned as part of the final stages towards authorisation.
If you have not received your fact sheets, please email fullgroup@bglc.com.au or phone Charee Smith at 0408811459 to arrange for a copy to be emailed.
Please ensure you have your ZOOM app on your phone or preferred device and that you remember that daylight savings commence overnight Saturday early Sunday 2 October 2022.
