About the Role

The Cultural Practices Officer helps advance biodiversity and biocultural management projects, working closely with Traditional Owners, agencies, and research partners to support Country healing, species monitoring, and cultural knowledge renewal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support biodiversity and cultural species planning and management
  • Work with Deakin University and DEECA on monitoring programs and species data
  • Strengthen networks between Traditional Owners and land managers
  • Support Full Group activities and community capacity-building
  • Assist with project planning, reporting and on-ground works
  • Participate in ceremonies, storytelling, and cultural practices relating to Country healing
