About the Role

The Education Liaison Officer supports First Nations learners in public schools by coordinating culturally informed educational support, improving policy and program implementation, and strengthening connections between families, schools, community and BGLC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support First Nations students through tailored academic, social and cultural assistance
  • Be the key liaison between schools, families, students and BGLC
  • Provide guidance on policy, program and strategy development
  • Lead cultural awareness and curriculum support
  • Maintain accurate program records and reports
  • Attend Koorie Outcomes Division meetings
  • Ensure cultural protocols and intellectual property protections are followed

Key Selection Criteria

  • Relevant qualification and experience (per PD requirements)
  • Strong understanding of First Nations culture, history, and community connections
  • Experience in education, liaison roles, or program implementation
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
