Calling All Artists on Wotjobaluk Country!

Barengi Gadjin Land Council invites all community members to come together for a Community Yarn — a relaxed gathering on Country to share stories, ideas, and connect with one another.

This is a time to listen, learn, and speak together about what matters most to our People, our Country, and our shared future. Whether you’re a Traditional Owner, a community member, or a friend of BGAL, you’re warmly welcome to join.

About the Opportunity

We’re developing a range of creative initiatives that reflect our shared identity and connection to Country — from public artworks and cultural installations to educational materials and community events. We invite artists working across all mediums — visual arts, sculpture, textiles, digital design, music, and storytelling — to submit an EOI to join our artist register. Selected artists may be considered for

Upcoming public art commissions and community mural projects
Cultural exhibitions and storytelling collaborations
Design and artwork contributions for BGLC publications or educational programs
Workshops or mentoring opportunities with community and young people

Who Can Apply

We encourage applications from:

First Nations artists with connection to the Wotjobaluk Nations
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists living or working on BGLC Country
Emerging, mid-career, and established artists

No formal qualifications are required — we’re looking for authentic voices, creative passion, and cultural integrity.

How to Apply

To express your interest, please provide:

A short artist bio (150–200 words)
Examples of your previous work (up to 5 images or links)
A short statement about why you’d like to collaborate with BGLC
